Hale Wharf
is situated off Ferry Lane, close to Tottenham Hale rail and underground
stations. The site offers a major regeneration opportunity and plans for the scheme include
500 new homes including affordable family housing, the potential for modern business
space, new shops and restaurants and reinvigorated canal-side public realm. Hale Wharf
has been designated as one of the Mayor of London’s Housing Zones, meaning the site will
make an important contribution to the Mayor’s and the Council’s aspiration for 2,000 new
homes in Tottenham Hale.
In addition to the homes, the scheme will also include a new bridge across the Lee Navigation,
providing a vital new link through to the site, as well as enhancements to pedestrian routes.
The water’s edge will also be regenerated thanks to upgrading the access routes to the
commercial barges as well as canal wall repairs and the addition of floating reed beds.
Residents will also be able to benefit from access to the Paddock Community Nature Park
which will play a key role in the Council’s new ‘Green Grid Strategy’ which seeks to improve
this space for the local community.
